My dog likes to go for a walk every day. He knows when it is time for his walk and goes to the door. We don't always have pleasant weather here and sometimes it's really cold. Dog clothes can protect my dog from the inclement weather while we are out.
My dog is a Chihuahua variety. He is tiny and gets cold very easily. He needs a coat in the winter and a sweater or vest for spring and autumn weather. Sweaters keep him warm when I take him out for his walk. They can be put on and taken off quite easily. If they are made of the right material they can be washed.
Dogs are uncomfortable when they get soaked with rain. Raincoats are great for taking him out in inclement weather, because rain or shine he wants to go out. Doggie boots are so economical and practical for all occasions especially on rainy or snowy days. In the winter, there is ice and rocks on the sidewalk that can hurt his paws. Sometimes in the summer the roads are just too hot for their little paws. These boots come in handy then too.
Dog clothes are for protection but who are we kidding, they really are for fun too. I love to dress my dog up in a bright blue T-shirt with a funny saying on it. I think the dog dresses are adorable. I wish I also had a girl dog to dress up.

Our puppies want to make us happy, we need to show them that we are happy and that we love them. Use praise to show him this, but don't use baby talk and don't baby your puppy.

I sit here and watch you sleep and memories of the years past play by, How did we get this far and why did it pass so fast?

It seems so boring to look at our lives as others have looked at theirs, but the old clichés run through my head anyway.

What is true is time has moved and we have changed. You and I are older; both have our share of gray.

You sleep a lot now, which was something you'd never do. I remember when you would hardly sit still, but your gait is slower and less sure than it once was.

What used to push you into a frenzied outburst now only earns an occasional snarl. Old friend, you age before my eyes and nothing I can do will slow it.

You've always been there whenever I need you, but now, I can't stop the changes taking place in you. Someday I'll reach for you at the foot of my bed; you won't be there.

It somehow seems unfair that such good things have to end so sadly. What will I do? Who will understand?

I'll never forget those intense brown eyes that speak in a language of their own. We do talk with each other, don't we?

Just give me a moment for this melancholy to pass. We'll go for a walk and laugh at the day.

Playing Fetch

I have the best dogs in the world. Bella is a healer,chocolate lab mix. Doc is a german shephard. They play so cute together. When they chew on their bone they both take a different end and share it. When we play fetch with their soft bone toy they play together. I throw the bone and they both run to fetch it. Whoever reaches it first grabs it,the other dog latches on to the other side and they bring it back together. It's so funny to watch these two big dogs prancing along side by side holding this toy between them. Then they drop it at my feet to throw again. If I'm not quick enough to pick it up, Doc grabs it and runs away. Bella runs after him and grabs the bone away. It's like she's telling him to put it back. "Don't you know how the game is played?", she says. She grabs the bone and brings it back.

A good loose control collar is what I use when training my puppy. Please be sure to get one without teeth. A collar with teeth can hurt your dog and you don't want to do that.

We have a new puppy at our house. He loves to dig in the yard. He digs in places that we have already landscaped. I use chain control collars to get his attention when his behavior is bad. When he starts to dig I tell him "No". If he continues to dig I pull back on his chain and tell him No again. Then I redirect his attention by throwing his ball. He loves to play fetch. If he digs again we go through this same scenario again until he gets the idea. This idea is called correct and redirect.

My puppy loves praise. I think your puppy will too. I praise him when he does what I want him to do. He loves that. When he is acting inappropriately I don't give him attention. I don't praise him and I don't look at him. I don't allow him up on my private area. If he tries to jump up on me, I put my knee up. This stops him from jumping up.

When I tell him to do something I expect him to do it. If he is being stubborn, I show him what I want him to do again. If he still won't do it I gently use his chain control collars to show him what I want him to do. I am positive with him. Talking quietly but firmly.

I love my puppy and I am enjoying our time together in training. I like to wrestle and play with him. I play with his face and touch his food to get him used to this. He doesn't need to be protective of his food.

A good control collar can be useful in training your dog. The martingale dog collar is a very good chain control collar to use. Love your puppy and play with your puppy but teach your puppy also. Use control collars to do this. Your dog can be well mannered and still be fun. A dog, that is not well mannered, is not fun to be around. Others will enjoy your obedient dog as much as you.
